Training Services

Puppy Foundations

The puppy stage is about far more than teaching obedience such as sit or heel. It’s a critical time for building confidence, resilience, and healthy coping skills that last a lifetime.

My puppy foundation training focuses on helping you understand your puppy, not just train them. Sessions are tailored to your puppy’s age, development, and individual needs, ensuring they aren’t rushed or overwhelmed.

We may work on:

  • Appropriate socialisation

  • Toilet Training
  • Confidence-building

  • Handling drills and body awareness

  • Foundational training skills

  • Preventing common behaviour challenges

  • Understanding puppy behaviour

Most importantly, this service supports you as well as your puppy. Each session will provide clear guidance, realistic expectations, and the confidence to support your puppy through this important stage of life.

Adult 1-1 Training

These sessions are designed to support specific training goals or refine existing skills in a way that fits your dog and your everyday life.

We may work on:

  • Loose lead walking and recall

  • Settling and impulse control

  • Focus and engagement around distractions

  • Building confidence in new environments

  • Strengthening existing skills in real-world situations

Sessions are paced to suit your dog, ensuring learning remains clear and achievable rather than overwhelming. I also take time to explain the why behind behaviours, so you understand what’s happening and how to support your dog between sessions.

This service is ideal for dogs who need individual attention and owners who want practical guidance, and training that fits into daily life.

Handling Training and Skills

As a veterinary nurse, I often see dogs who do not have the skills to handle routine care and handling during veterinary visits.

This service is aimed at dogs who struggle with veterinary visits, or general handling, including those who may be fearful, avoidant, reactive, or respond defensively, including through resistance or aggression.

Each programme is tailored to the individual dog and begins at a level that suits their needs. You will also be supported to understand your dog’s body language, so you can better recognise when they are comfortable and when they need more support.

The aim is to help your dog become more able to cope with necessary handling during real-world situations in a way that is safer, more predictable, and less stressful for both them and yourself.

Behaviour Modification

This service is designed for dogs experiencing more complex or ongoing behavioural challenges. Rather than focusing solely on training specific behaviours, we work to understand why a behaviour is happening and how to change it at the root.

We may work on challenges such as:

  • Reactivity towards dogs, people, or specific triggers

  • Fear, avoidance or anxiety-related behaviours

  • Frustration, over-arousal or difficulties 'switching off'
  • Ongoing behaviours that impact daily life or safety

The process begins with a thorough assessment of your dog’s history, environment, learning experiences, and any physical or medical considerations. From there, we develop a clear, realistic plan that fits your dog’s needs and your lifestyle.

The aim is to create meaningful, lasting change that helps your dog feel better equipped to cope with the world. You’ll be guided every step of the way, with clear explanations, practical strategies, and ongoing support as you work through the programme.

£250 1-2-hour initial consult, 1 training session and written behaviour modification plan.

£80 per follow up session / £300 4x follow up sessions.
